pure & simple swing coat

Another Pure & Simple Pattern.
These patterns are always a delight to knit. No matter how many garments or lace projects are completed I always enjoy a P&S project and never tire of their steadfast simplicity.

If there is a knitter out there that hasn't seen the new publication, Coastal Knits, then you should drop everything and search one out. It is a lovely book filled with beautiful stories and beach shots located along the Maine and California coasts, 'cause that's where these two lovely designers, Alana Dakos and Hannah Fettig, are from.  I can truly say I want to knit one of every pattern in the book, but chose to start with the Water's Edge Cardigan. So far I have about 4 inches to show and loving the marriage of this pattern with Rowan, Kidsilk Aura in a yummy wheat shade #752 (sorry this fiber has been discontinued).

and yes.....we put up our Christmas tree today!

I made the same sweater in the same yarn and the same color! I love it and am sure you will love yours too!

I LOVE Noro Furisode and found it on sale at a great price. While looking for potential patterns to use it for (as I really like to have a project lined up before I make a purchase....most of the time) I found your blog. I was, of course, led to Jimmy Bean's site to the pattern and never would have thought to use Furisode for this pattern. Did you have to make any adjustments for the Furisode or did it knit to gauge? Also, I don't really care for the collar being quite so hugh in the pattern, but in your pictures, it doesn't look that high. Did you change that or is that just how it turned out? I'm fairly new to knitting and as yet have not done a cardigan, although I have about 3 lined up so far. My "story" sounds much like yours. Watched my Mother knit for years....all sorts of beautiful garments, and never thought I'd be up to it :).
Any input you can give me on this would be ever so appreciated! Thanks :)
