Comments: The Clementine Shawlette pattern is from Interweave Knits - Spring 2007. I purchased the yarn while on a day trip to Asheville and love the richness of the red! The lace pattern will be an easy repeat and should be perfect to work on while chatting with my knit group on Thursday evenings! This will probably be my next project.

While we all enjoy gifts during the holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, I believe without doubt presents are especially precious when totally unexpected...so was the case when I presented my Leaf Lace Scarf to my Buddy "Jeannie".
You see I knit the Leaf Lace especially for her as a "Just Because" gift. Jeannie and I met tonight for dinner (before gathering at Common Threads for an evening of group knitting) and FINALLY...I gave her the Unexpected Leaf Lace Scarf! I had been out of my mind with excitement all week and just knew I would fumble (spill the beans) during one of our many phone conversations. Well, the wait was worth it and I believe she was truly surprised and thrilled with her Unexpected Goodie. See-------------->
My Unexpected Gift was the depth of JOY I received from gifting a lovely hand knit to a Very Special Friend.

I will be proud to gift Leaf Lace. Gosh this is a hard one to part with, but a known fact the recipient will love her as much as Knitting Diva! Ahhhhhhhh..another "Just Because" gift!!!
This Sock It to Me Scarf is from 101 Designer One Skein Wonder and was knit with On Line Supersocke SOX yarn. I was not thrilled with SITM during the knitting process, but forced myself thru it (don't know why as the yarn was nice and cheerful and the pattern was uncomplicated and fun?????). Man I am happy I finished her 'cause after blocked, this knit turned into a beautiful luscious casual scarf. The softness of this scarf Rocks and is fabulous around the neck of my "Bright Red Leather Jacket".

I can hardly wait to wear this simple scarf with my jean jackets and dress wool coat.
NOTE: A full description of this yarn is Yummy....Yummy.....Yummy!
Yarn Name: Angora Merino
Content: 80% Extra Fine Merino
Skein Weight: 50g - 130 yds
Project Plans: Sublime Bunny hat with matching Gertrude Gloves
Comments: This hat and gloves are from Sublime Book #605 and will be my first glove project. The fluted edge on the gloves certainly is a break from the norm and the tiny flower adds an unexpected touch. The simple hat will be soft and stylish with the gorgeous edging! This set will be knit totally with me in mind!

I am so in love with this blanket and can hardly wait to give to Sis-In-Law this Saturday! She will be sooo totally sooo completely Surprised! I adore surprises and adore giving to those I love.
Not only is The Hemlock Ring Blanket a fun, quick, and special project, it is ever so economical. Only a tad bit over one skein of Cascade Eco was used for this project. To prepare the blanket for blocking, I rinsed her in Soak and found the softness of the piece amazing...to the point of feeling quite delicate.
Listen.............can't you already hear the hints from Mom expressing her desire for a Hemlock Blanket? Wonder what color would suit her taste?????
This is Hemlock before blocking.................
...and during blocking
