Muted Color Affection

Calling all knitters that are looking for an interesting and just plain fun project....this one could be just The One!

 There really is a lot of knitting (all garter stitch) in Color Affection but on the other hand it's amazing how quickly it knits up.  Guess it's all that gartering going on!

 The Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light makes for a very light and airy shawl that will be worn even in the spring and summer.

You seriously should give Color Affection a try, I think you will love the simplicity of the pattern and love all the striping going on! 

My Water's Edge

It was quite exciting this morning when the temperature took a dive and I could wear my new Water's Edge.  I really thought it would have to wait for it's debut till late next fall. 

The Gardener did a little photo shoot this morning just up the street from our house on the grounds of the yummy restaruant, Nobles.  

The good news is::how fabulous this pattern is when knit with the lovely Rowan Kidsilk Aura, the bad news is::this fiber has been discontinued.

 If you are really interested in the Aura you may still find it on line...just work "The Google". 

Lucky me....I have 11 skeins of the sweet Aura in my stash in Sapphire Blue!! AND it just may be another Water's Edge!

fresh off the needles is Color Affection

This Veera Valimaki design is a very cool, geometric pattern with unlimited color combinations!

Seemed like I raced thru this one and found it hard to believe how quickly this knit up even with the 400 plus stitch rows toward the end.  Maybe it was all that soothing and relaxing Garter stitch. I just wanted to keep knitting and knitting even while reading on my Nook Color! 

 Once blocked this is a long crescent shape shawl that will be worn not only as a shawl but as a scarf or kerchief....that's just how light and airy this piece is knit with Malabrigo. 

 I was nervous about my color choice during the process but now that its finished and blocked I find it to be nice mated with a gray or white sweater.

 With all these positives you know I will be casting on for my second Color Affection....(guess you could see that one coming) AND here is my MadelinetoshTosh Merino Light for #2!!!

I have only one sleeve to knit on this sweater and the Cast On Will Begin on my Pink Affection!

Do you remember I said a Linen Stitch Scarf would be in the making for The Twin, well here is a  sneak  peek...........

 Of course nothing would do for him but Koigu - KPPPM and Claudia Hand Painted !  This should knit into a very handsome piece!

The grey/brown taupe is Koigu - #P307
The blue is Koigu - #2171
The multi pastel is Claudia Hand Painted - Rock Creek

 And already on the needles is a Spring Linen Stitch scarf just for me!  LUVING it!

These scarves are seriously addictive.  Don't you think a pattern knit 4 times by a knitter would qualify for that status?

Pumped is what I am these days!  And it's all Malabrigo's fault! Can't you just visualize these little pretties knit up in lots of garter stitches and colorful stripes.

It's taking all my will power not to cast on for this lovely this week-end! But it will simply be admired till my Water's Edge is finished this week.

guess what??  It won't be the last! 

The plan is not to knit two Koigu Linen Stitch Scarves, but to knit this pattern in quadruple!!

That would be a first for me...four times the fun :) 

 Another one will be knit in pastel shades of Koigu for me to enjoy love this Spring and the fourth one will be knit with Koigu in shades of greys and blues for "The Twin" for Christmas....'cause I love him so much!

 This is only my opinion, but I think these colors "Rock" in a finished 5" x 65" scarf!  I chose Koigu  KPPPM: P318, P816 and P112. 

There will be a slight break before starting the next Linen Stitch Scarf....but only till I can make the next Koigu purchase.  That's actually part of the fun, I mean what true knitter wouldn't get excited over all those gorgeous Koigu colors!!!  No worry, I'll let you know soon as I have it in hand.

let's do some catching up

One Koigu Linen Stitch Scarf just isn't enough.

My second one was started soon as the fiber could be purchased and even tho it isn't finished....I know this will be one of my favorite scarves. The elegant feel of the Koigu is already a given and the purples/corals/blue combination is totally scrumptious!! I can't take total credit for the color selections the real pro and shop owner of Yarn Paradise coordinated this beautiful combo. I chose my favorite skein and she took it from there.  

 My Bulky Blanket is ready for gifting to a small boy at The Lilly's Foundation Childhood Cancer Center at Brenner's Childrens Hospital.

The blanket has been blessed and hopefully will touch this child like a big hug of comfort when wrapped around his shoulders and body. It is my prayer this special blanket will feel like a shield of protection for this little boy and will fill a void during his difficult time.
Four skeins of Lion Brand Wool.Ease Thick made this a soft and extremely warm cuddly blanket finished with a crochet border knit with Lions Brand Vanna's Choice Solid (held doubled).

During my mission knitting I completed 5 BallBand Dishcloths!  What Fun! AND how addictive!  I simply couldn't stop.  These will be mated with some nice soap and perhaps a sweet goodie for some special friends and  family members.

I'm considering knitting up a couple of hand towels in cream/white/tan for our bathroom and of course would use Peaches & Cream again.
